Progress
In this page I will maintain a list of my weight loss milestones. If you come here, you will see my ongoing progress and some of my thoughts about the process.
- 01 Feb, 2008: 111 Kilos (244 lbs) 0. Today I start the diet. I wanted to show my blood sugar in this same listing, but my glucose meter is broken. I’ll start posting the blood sugar data when I get a new glucose meter.
- 03 Feb, 2008: 109 Kilos (240 lbs) -4. I’m working on changing eating habits. I know, from experience, that I need to eat 3 - 5 times a day to lose weight. I had fallen out of the habit of eating breakfast, and so I’m working on getting into the routine of eating at least 3 times a day.
- 05 Feb, 2008: 108 Kilos (238 lbs) -6: Getting better at the 3 meals a day. I miss my wheat bran crackers, but I’ll get used to that, I enjoyed the crunch. I know that the majority of my weight loss, up to now, has been a water loss. But, it still is nice to see the scale going down a little every day.
- 09 Feb, 2008: 107 Kilos (235 lbs) -9: It took a few more days than before to lose this kilo. So, I guess I’m past the ‘water weight loss’ phase. Now, I expect to enter the phase where I lose about one kilo per week. I’ll know more in a couple of weeks.
- 18 Feb, 2008: 106 Kilos (233 lbs) -11: It took 9 days to get to this level. I fluctuated at and below 107 the whole 9 days. I discovered that I was sensitive to eggs, and this messed up my eating plans. Also, during this time I continued to shrink my waist size (one belt notch). One day I was helping a worker with one of our windows and was holding something over my head and my pants fell off.
- 24 Feb, 2008: 105 Kilos (231 lbs) -13: The last 6 days have been a roller-coaster. My weight went up and back down. When this happens (weight going up), I stop all variations and return to the low-carb basics of meat and green veggies. I usually get back on track in two days.
- 29 Feb, 2008: 104 Kilos (229 lbs) -15: The last 5 days have been steady. I was either losing a little each day, or I was not. I did not increase my weight on any day. Yesterday, I started back on my beloved whole-wheat crackers (I had 3). I had stopped them to get my body conditioned to weight loss.

I would not as a rule post on a blog however I like this post therefore I felt stimulated to do so. Straying away from the subject somewhat, what is your opinion concerning walking? It is these days being showcased as the best exercise to burn fat.
